Residential Camp

Every summer camp experience depends most on those entrusted with your child’s well-being. Our counselors are trained to build family-like structures to take care of each other. Frankly, it’s why parents have selected Phantom Lake for more than 115 years. It’s why 90 percent of our counselors return year after year. And, it’s why competition is stiff for counselor positions every year. Our counselors want younger kids to experience camp just like they did.

Daily Camp Schedule

Your camper’s day will include time spent at each of the following activity programs: Specialty Periods, Free Choice, Tent Time, All Camp Activities.

Specialty Activities offer campers the opportunity to increase their level of skill in a variety of areas. At the beginning of the week, campers are given explanations of all the options and choose two different specialties for the week. Each day they will spend one hour at each of the specialties in the morning with the same instructor and class of campers learning new skills.

Free Choice Activities occur each afternoon allowing campers to choose from all of our staff supervised activities. Traditional activities include arts and crafts, swimming, fishing, canoeing, riflery, basketball, boating, soccer, rock climbing, archery, geo-caching, disc golf, zip line…and more.

Tent Time includes games, meals, QUEST (an activity chosen by the tent to participate in together), and a “taps talk” (a wrap-up talk at the end of each day). Campers are often surprised at the strong friendships they form so quickly within their tent family.

All-Camp Activities occur in the evening after flag lowering. Campers enjoy skits, staff shows, all-camp games or campfires, and other special events. Friday evening concludes with the awards and closing ceremony.
